Jameson Raid

Register or Login to edit

Formed in 1975, Jameson Raid was a heavy rock band which played in many venues in Birmingham. They folded in 1983 but left the world with two fantastic self-released EPs and a track - ”Hard Lines” appearing on the EMI compilation “Metal for Muthas II – although credited to “The Raid”. There is a possibility they are now (2009) reforming so get out there and support them!! A fab new website dedicated to the band can be found at http://www.jamesonraid.net/index.html. Thanks to Steve.

Hi to all the band and the many fans of The Raid when they were my Tuesday night band at the famous Railway Hotel i8n Digbeth.Iwas the landlady at the Railway for about three years when the lads were starting off. Well done on reforming you will make many of your old fans very happy. Good luck to everyone and fond memories at the Railway Luv.BET

I saw Jameson Raid a few times including at the Wolverhampton Fiesta in about 1979? They were absolutely fantastic, one of the best live rock band I’ve ever seen. They are hoping to reform next year, 2010. If they can capture just a little of the magic they had then they will be well worth seeing, I can’t wait :-)

The singer, Terry Dark, has started the reunion already, by himself (!) He has already performed Jameson Raid songs with two other bands at festivals in Germany, there are vids on youtube :-)

Great band great blokes great times I should know I was one of the roadies.Soon to reappear 2010?

  5. Mick Deakin Says:

Saw this fantastic band 6 or 7 times between 1978 and 1982 at venues such as Birmingham Bogarts, Birmingham Bingley Hall, Railway Tavern digbeth as well as Birmingham Odeon and Himley Hall outdoor festival.

Great Stage act with all members having their own individuality.

One of the best (if not the best) act I ever saw play.

Part of a great scene in 1980 where plenty of small rock bands played small venues and gave their audiences experiences to treasure.

    Never to be forgotten.
    Mick
